Kids Vaccinated Or Go To Jail

In Maryland a judge ordered that either the parents, of school age children, provide proof that their kids have been vaccinated, or have the kids vaccinated on the spot. If either of these two items were not done the the parents would be subjected to ten days in jail. Two months into school and there were 2000 kids in this particular county that did not have immunizations! The school system consists of 132,000 students. Some of the parents said the their children were already immunized but said that the school had lost their records. Another reason why some of these students might not have had immunizations is that some people think that they raise the chances of autism and other medical problems.

Yes because the parents are responsible for their kids to know when they should get there Vaccination shot to be in school.

I think this is so stupid and dumb. What if the parents can't afford it or they are going through finincal problems, or what if the parents don't want their child or children to get the shot. People have a right to make their own choices. Everyone has rights. If I had a child that went to that
school, I would drop them out, and move to a different school,or just not get my children that shot and lie about it. In someone elese's opionion It is a good thing that the judge said that because all of the kids in the school could get sick from just one kid. I think it would be pretty good to pass the shot at that school.

I don't think kids should have to take vaccines because it' the parents choice and the doctor costs a lot of money.

There are a lot of parents who don't vaccinate their kids or delay vaccinations for medical reasons. Sometimes a sibling had a bad reaction to a vaccine, or a child has allergies to a vaccine's ingredients.

It troubles me that a judge would try to make those sorts of medical decisions in loco parentis. Sure, offer free vaccines for parents who want to vaccinate their children but can't afford to. And remind parents who are just spacey or deadbeats that their kids need regular checkups. But don't interfere with well-informed parents who are trying to make the best decisions for their children.
