Back From Bloomington Normal

I got back from Bloomington Normal yesterday afternoon after watching a heartbreaking loss for our Lady Braves. We lost 12-2 in six innings. It was a perfect day for softball. I would say when our game started it was in the mid 80s or so. There was quite a breeze blowing. We started out the game great by scoring two runs right out of the gate.

Being in the "Elite 8" is something special and you girls have nothing to be ashamed of. For those of you that don't know what the "Elite 8" means, it means that we were one of the top eight teams in the entire state of Illinois in our class (A). Congratulations girls and may you remember, and learn from, your trip to the state tournament.

I agree it was a very heartbreaking lose. We played the best we could but after the first inning our batting was not very focused i guess. The pitcher was a lot slower than we were used to--Which was a huge disadvantage to us--but we got a few good hits off of her. Our defence could have been better but we just weren't metally there all the way. Congrats to the rest of you softball girls for a good season. We finished .500 so i'm happy.

I argree with you on the whole heartbreaking loss. At the begining Erin hit a good line drive to the outfield, and we all got excited about that an d thought we were going to do well. Well by the second inning the girl on the other team got walked and eventually made it home. ONce we were down by 1 point we basiclly gave up(bad thing), even though when we played the regionals game and sectionals game we were down a fair amount of pionts and we ended up pulling off a win. Anway by the time we gave up we had lost ourselves a game we should of won.
On Saturday the entire team and I all went to the Final4 game and the championship game and the team that we lost to ende up getting 2ND in the entire state.
And gooing and doing this will only want us to do it again, so heres what I've got to say,
" Look out Liberty and all the teams in the state, because the Lady Braves are not going to give up, and we will bring home some "Hardware"".

Ariann,

You make some great points. I think it was good for you guys to stay and watch the rest of the tournament. I would say it should make you hungry to get back there next year. Good luck next year and I will be there to support you again.

I agree it was a very sad and disapointing loss. i think that we played good defence untill about the 5th inning, and then everything went down hill from there. The first inning i think we were on fire! i think that our hitting was really good the first inning. Kelsie got a good bunt down, and then got me home. Everyone was fired up after that, but when the first batter was walked, i think everyone got real down, and just gave up.
all in all i think we had an awsome year!
GOOD JOB LADIES!!!

I will agree that it was a very heartbreaking loss, but we also didn't play very good that game. I also would not say that everyone gave up. Everyone just got down on themselves.

Yes, I agree that this was a very heartbreaking loss. I also believe that this was not one of the better games that we played this season and that we could have won that game. In the beginning, I thought that we would keep it a close game but I guess when the other team started scoring, we lost our confidence. I hope next season we can make it this far again!!

I agree that it was a bad loss, but I know we could have done a lot better. Erin got us started with an awesome hit and then kelsie got on base too. I really thought we were going to win. I thought it was going to be a really close game. But when we got on defense we just fell a part. I don't exactly know why but that wasn't how we had played 2 weeks before that. I think that if we played that game again, we would play a lot better. I just hope we can play that team again in high scholl and beat them.
