As Ms. Hermesmeyer teaches her lesson to the freshman I find myself thinking about all the ways to teach with a Smartboard. The possibilities are pretty much endless. Kids interacting with the board, each other, and with you as the teacher. How much better can it get? Could Smartboards eventually teach a class by themselves? Probably. Does human interaction and imagination make learning on the Smartboard more exciting and beneficial? Definitely! We, as teachers, have to make sure we are stretching the Smartboard technology to the limits so that better products can be created. New projects and ideas on the Smartboard are what the Smartboard is all about! I hope I have the opportunity to work with a Smartboard on a continuous basis. I am sure it would increase my teaching success on many levels.
I discuss everything on this blog! Please comment (and sign)! I love a great discussion.

Rolling with Technology
Since we have established a routine in school it is about time to bust out the technology and put our 2008 brains to work! I have started by creating a social network for all the teachers at Payson Seymour. I hope all of the teachers take advantage of this. I think it will become a great asset. The 7th grade gmail accounts are almost set up and I have sent the first email of the school year to my current 8th and 9th graders. Is there any end to what you can do with technology? The Smartboards for the math teachers are in! I can't wait to get my hands on this interesting technology! Mr. Page will be very useful in filling us in on the capabilities of this futuristic textbook. May we all profit from the advantages of technology and have patience when technology doesn't always work the way we want it to.

Technology Day
What a day today! I did miss my students but I had a great time today discussing and learning technology. I had the opportunity today to get together with the technology coordinator and go over some information that needs to be covered in a workshop that we have in a couple of weeks. I got to refresh my memory on web page development. I also got to show the tech coordinator the benefits of using the different Google applications. A fun day with lots of learning! It is hard to top that.

Keeping Up With Technology
I am feeling a little "technoed-out". What I mean by that is that whenever I learn how to use some new technology then it seems like ten more new technologies pop up! I blog, audio podcast, read my Google reader, use Google docs, and try to implement this technology into my classes in a timely manner. As I read about other educators, and what they are doing with technology, I feel as if I am in the dark ages. I love technology and feel very strongly about how it has to be implemented into education so that our kids are ready for the world that will exist when they start, and continue, their occupation. I will continue to try to blaze a trail at our school, as far as technology goes, but I sure feel like a speck right at this moment.
I use Will Richardson, David Warlick, Karl Fisch, Vicki A. Davis, and TechLEARNING.com as resources currently. Does anyone have another site, or blog, that is really good at keeping educators up to date?
